Project Esperanza began as a Virginia Tech student organization in the fall of 2005. In July 2007 Project Esperanza was registered as a 501(c)(3) organization but the student organization remains an important part of the effort! After a few semesters of little to no activity, the Virginia Tech Project Esperanza student organization is back to meeting regularly, holding fundraisers, and raising awareness around campus and in Blacksburg.
